Rooks Family Wins Oldest Unit Contest!
Joel and Flora Rooks of Ashburn won a new unit by having the oldest entry in Cottongim Heating and Cooling's recent Oldest Unit Contest. The winning unit, original to house, predates 1968 when the couple purchased the home. "The Rooks won by a landslide," said Colt Anderson, owner of Cottongim. "We had a lot of entries and interest in the contest, but their unit proved to be the oldest." Cottongim used The Oldest Unit Contest to bring awareness to the energy efficiency and overall cost savings newer units offer homeowners. Second place and third place winners Mary Howell of Fitzgerald and Chad Hall of TyTy won $750 and $500 coupons towards new units; everyone who entered will receive a $400 coupon, with no expiration date, towards a new unit.
